Daily Bird? The Great Blue Heron
This bird that I love, the majestic great blue heron, is back.
That means it will be sleeping outside the balcony beginning anytime now through maybe April, pretending to be a stalk, which I think it is trying to do in this picture.
It had a different pose for each frame I captured, neck and beak rotated along a combination of x, y or z axes, as if it was practicing its "blending" abilities and see which one was the best.
I hope that worked for the fish, as it didn't for me during the time I was "birdwatching". My hands got too tired from the Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD (2014) mounted onto Nikon D810 (2014) to verify it actually caught one.
From the frames captured, I was very tempted to pick the S-shaped neck one displaying the bird narrowing down on a fish on the water surface, but factors like hand jitter or wind might have affected the image sharpness so it didn't look good zoomed in.
Hopefully, this one does, as I can see the bird's yellow round eyeball when I do, even though it looks like "a stalk" from where I am.
