Archive: Erick the Architect

This one is from a concert of Erick the Architect in Seattle in 2024, where I fortunately had to happen to have my cell-phone sized APS-C sensor Ricoh GR III (2019) camera with me.

I think it is a perfect tool precisely for this type of a call, when one can't bring a full-sized photographic equipment. That is of course, if you don't mind carrying two devices in your pocket.

The camera, due its miniscule size, has a fixed retracting 18mm lens (equivalent to 28mm on full frame), but it allows to digitally zoom to 35mm and 50mm (standard) focal length equivalents. I believe this image was at 50mm, resulting in only an 8-megapixel image from the sensor's 24-megapixels. I have no complaints.

Settings used:

  • 18mm (*1.5, cropped for the equivalent of 50mm) – 1/80 – f/2.8 – ISO 125
